POEM: When Traveling In a Car

there is often a moment
when sky is a smoky sonogram
of a fetus
scrolled with the arch
of an upper case ā€œCā€

shafts of sunlight
are long, thin vaginal
walls as
earth catches whatever falls
As afterbirth

ontofarmlands
ontocities
ontoforests and foggy dales

ontocraggy-shale-hills
formed long ago in volcanic frenzy

everything just smeared with life.
